Enrollment

In 1994, the first graduating class from TTUISD consisted of only two.[3] Now, TTUISD has a total enrollment of over 1,802 students from 48 U.S. states and 24 foreign countries. Of the 1,802 students there are 1,420 high school students, 257 middle school students and 125 elementary school students. [4] 176 students graduated in the 2009-2010 year.

The graduates came from 10 different states and five foreign countries. They are as follows: Texas (129), North Carolina (3), Colorado (2), Georgia (2), South Carolina (2), California (1), Maine (1), Montana (1), Nevada (1), New York (1). The foreign countries represented are Brazil (25), Mexico (5), United Kingdom (1), Jamaica (1) and Republic of Panama (1).

The highest GPA in the 2009-2010 graduating class was 4.57, and there were 26 students who had a GPA of 4.0 or above. The average GPA was 3.27. The average SAT scores were 570 verbal, 565 math, 550 writing, and a composite of 1685. The average ACT composite score was 25. All of these scores are above the state and national average. [4]

Brazil Partnership

TTUISD has had a decade-long partnership with Centro Educacional Leonardo Da Vinci school in Vitoria, Brazil. On Oct. 24, 2009, 41 students from Vitoria, Brazil, graduated with a Texas high school dual diploma without ever leaving the country.

This unique partnership began 10 years ago when the administrators of the Brazilian school were looking for a program in the United States that could meet the needs of their students. Since the inception of this program, approximately 200 students have graduated.

The partnership continues to grow. In February 2010 there were about 700 students enrolled in 11 schools throughout Brazil. During the past year, eight new schools teamed with Texas Tech University to add 200 new students to the program. [5]

Accreditation

TTUISD is accredited by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Courses and credit by exams (CBEs) are aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). [4]

Notable Students

Actors Jesse Plemons, who plays Landry Clark on the television show Friday Night Lights, and Hunter Parrish are notable graduates of the school as is Olympic speed skater Jordan Malone.[6][7][8] Leven Rambin (All My Children, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) was enrolled and scheduled to graduate in 2008.[9] Disney actress Sarah LeMaire from the television show Wannabes is currently a student at TTUISD.[10]
